IntegrAuto Project meeting | |||
The next IntegrAuto project meeting will take place in Teknia premises (Jaen-Spain) from 15-16 June 2010. During the event, last activities carried out and results achieved in each workpackages will be explained, as well a review of the project objectives for next period. IntegrAuto project (2008-2011), is a Singular and Strategic Project from the Ministry of Science & Innovation, and with FEDER funding. The main aim of the project is to increase the added value on automotive components by integrating functionalities obtained by interconnecting innovative processes. |

Three UPV/EHU students, winners of the Spanish qualifying stage of Euspen Challenge 2010 | |||
Three students from Basque Country University (UPV/EHU), which also form part of the research team within CIC marGUNE, have won the Spanish qualifying stage of Euspen Challenge 2010. This competition is organised by the European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (EUSPEN) and key industrial players in such sector, in order to identify the best young engineer talents in Europe in this field. The team, composed by David Olvera and Asier Fernández, both PhD students at UPV/EHU, and the visiting student from the Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), Federico Iván Compeán, was awarded for a study on the precision of a numerically-controlled turning-milling machine, entitled "Experimental static stiffness evaluation methodology of a turning centre kinematic chain". The winning team will represent Spain in the international final event that will take place in Delft (Netherlands) from May 31 to June 4 and in Jena (Germany) from 1 to 3 July 2010. |

CIC marGUNE in the 26th Edition of BIEMH 2010 | |||
CIC marGUNE will be present in the next International Machine Tool Biennial – BIEMH 2010, which is to be held at BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre) from May 31 to 5 June, 2010. As in past editions, CIC marGUNE has planned to participate in this event with the dissemination of the latest advances and technological developments that have been made in the field of the Basque Manufacturing. CIC marGUNE in the "Against the Flow: Producing in high cost countries" event day |

An event entitled “Against the Flow: Producing in high cost countries", which it is organized by ASCAMM, EsadeCreapolis and UAB, will take place in the premises of EsadeCreapolis in Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona) the next 24th February 2010. Javier Laucirica, as Vice-President of CIC marGUNE, will attend to such event as speaker explaining the experience and vision of CIC marGUNE, and in the later round table session about New Industrial Technologies. Round Tables about “why is possible – and necessary” to produce in high cost countries will be carried out by the attendees. The event has the participation of different national and international experts together with leading companies that will present and discuss their views on strategy, technology and business models regarding the XXI Century industrial production.
